Using a USB MIDI keyboard
Connect your keyboard to the computer before clicking Connect keyboard. Choose Allow when the browser asks for MIDI access, then select an instrument. Your headphones plug into the computer.
No sound?
Wait for the instrument to finish loading. Check this page’s volume, the computer’s volume and your headphones. Press Hear a preview to check the sound. If the preview works, reconnect your keyboard.
Keyboard not showing?
Try Chrome on a desktop or laptop. Reconnect the USB cable, then click Connect keyboard again. If permission is blocked on a school computer, ask your teacher or IT team.
Playing expressively
Play harder or softer to change the volume on a touch-sensitive MIDI keyboard. A connected sustain pedal works too. The octave buttons move only the on-screen and computer keyboard.
